Downtown Valdosta is the city's main shopping area. The area is also connected by pedestrian-only lanes, which make it pleasant and uncrowded. The downtown is home to a number of boutique shops, coffee houses, and other eateries.
Downtown Valdosta is also home to the Lowndes County Courthouse. This historic building features a Neoclassical facade and four Corinthian columns. The building also features a large central dome and a number of interesting monuments. The courthouse also hosts free concerts, cook-offs, and other events.
